CNET’s Crave Gadget Blog Posts Preliminary Review of AKG Wireless Headphones

Promising full reviews of both the K830 and K840 wireless headphones by AKG in the coming weeks, this article provides just a quick, high-level overview of the main features of both models.  The writer notes that the K830 supports Bluetooth, while the K840 is based on Kleer wireless technology and “…is designed more for audiophiles who want to cut the cord.”  Overall, the reviewer was impressed with the K840 headphones, noting that “…Kleer technology simply offers higher sound quality than Bluetooth.”  Read the full article>>

CrunchGear Reviews Harman Audio's AKG K840 Wireless Headphones with Kleer Wireless Audio Technology

Deven Coldewey focuses on weight, comfort and ease-of-use in his review of the AKG K830 and K840 wireless headphones from Harman Audio and noted that they score pretty high in all three criteria. He chose to mainly test the K840 with Kleerâ wireless audio technology because, in his opinion, its RF support makes it “…the more universally applicable model, having a compact dongle that attaches to any 1/8" audio jack. It also provides better audio quality for those keeping track (what with streaming and compression already taking their toll on fidelity).”  His pro tip:  “Opt for the Kleer version, as it adds both range and fidelity for a pretty reasonable increase in price.”  Read the full article>>

Engadget: "Sleek by 50 Cent Platinum Headphones Announced, Invites Beats to a Showdown"

One of the news items that came out of CES 2011 was an announcement by Sleek Audio and rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson introducing the Sleek by 50 Cent line of headphones which use the Kleer lossless wireless audio technology. Engadget says, “We’re told that they were designed by 50 Cent and engineered by Sleek, and are the first headphones ever to offer ‘Wireless Hybrid’ technology with military-grade metals.” Although the Sleek by 50 Cent headphones haven’t yet been released, they are already being compared with the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones so more reviews are sure to follow. Delta Sky: Gotta Have It – Arcam rCube

Air travelers who pick up the December issue of Delta Sky magazine will find a compelling review of the Arcam rCube iPhone dock on page 38. Stating that “…the British audio veterans at Arcam poured three years into perfecting the rCube,” the review goes on to say, “They have thought of your every listening need.” The article mentions that the rCube offers Kleer audio technology to stream music wirelessly without affecting sound quality. TrulyObscure reviews Sleek Audio's SA1 High-Fidelity Siam Rosewood Earphones and says they are some of the best wireless personal audio gear that they've tried. They are also fans of the Kleer technology - "The CD quality 16-bit wireless system from Kleer is a nifty addition that elevates these above many other similarly-priced sibling- it will set you back a bit of extra dough, and means that you’ll have to worry about batteries though."
